Fix: Kanban card not appearing (what triggers it)

What you’ll learn

Why a Kanban card might not appear, what exactly triggers Kanban creation in D2C Lab, and the fastest checks to fix it.

What triggers a Kanban card (the rule)

A Kanban card is created automatically when any supplier contact is added to a product.

That means:

  • as soon as you add your first supplier for a product (and it’s saved),

  • the product will appear in Kanban,

  • starting in the Sourcing column.

It does not require:

  • choosing a winner

  • completing Validator

  • completing Calculator

Step-by-step fixes (do these in order)

1) Confirm a supplier was actually saved

Go to Suppliers for that product.

Check:

  • Do you see at least one supplier card?

  • Was it saved (not just typed in a popup)?

If no supplier is saved yet, Kanban won’t create a card.

2) Check your Portfolio filter (most common “missing card” cause)

Kanban respects portfolio filtering.

Fix:

  1. Switch your portfolio filter to All

  2. Open Kanban

  3. Search visually for the product card

If you see it in All, switch back to the correct portfolio.

3) Refresh once

If the supplier was added just now, you may be seeing stale UI.

Fix:

  • refresh the page once

  • reopen Kanban

4) Make a small supplier edit (forces a save event)

Sometimes the first save didn’t complete cleanly.

Fix:

  1. Open the supplier card

  2. Change a small field (example: add a character in Notes)

  3. Save

  4. Refresh once

  5. Re-check Kanban

5) Close extra tabs (prevents sync issues)

If D2C Lab is open in multiple tabs, one tab can overwrite state.

Fix:

  • close all D2C Lab tabs

  • open one fresh tab

  • log in again and check Kanban

6) Try incognito/private window

If it works in incognito but not in your normal browser, it’s usually cache/session or an extension.

Fix:

  • clear site data for d2clab.co

  • disable ad blockers/extensions for the site

Quick checklist (30 seconds)

  • ✅ Supplier exists and is saved

  • ✅ Portfolio filter set to All

  • ✅ Refresh once

  • ✅ Make a tiny supplier edit and save

  • ✅ Close extra tabs

  • ✅ Try incognito

Common causes (what’s usually happening)

Cause A: Supplier was not saved

You added details but didn’t complete the save action.

Cause B: You’re viewing the wrong portfolio

The card exists, but the filter hides it.

Cause C: Stale UI after first supplier add

A refresh shows the newly created card.

Cause D: Multiple tabs overwriting state

Close extra tabs and retry.

If it still doesn’t appear (report it)

Post this in:
feedback.d2clab.co → Bug Reports

Include:

  1. Product name

  2. Confirmation you added a supplier (screenshot of supplier card)

  3. Whether you checked portfolio = All

  4. What happened after refresh

  5. Device + browser (example: iPhone / Safari)

  6. Screen recording if possible
