Fix: Calculator values not saving / resetting

How to fix the most common reasons Calculator inputs don’t stick (reset back, revert after refresh, or don’t sync), plus what to include when reporting the issue.


What this issue looks like

You might notice one of these:

  • You enter values, but after leaving the page they go back to the old numbers.

  • You refresh and the Calculator resets.

  • Net Profit changes in the Calculator, but later the numbers revert.

  • You type a value and it “jumps” back immediately.


Fix it fast (do these in order)

1) Make one change and confirm it “sticks”

  1. Open the product’s Calculator card

  2. Change a single field (example: add +1 to a cost)

  3. Wait a moment (or click Save if there is a Save action)

  4. Refresh once

If the number remains after refresh, saving is working.


2) Avoid multiple tabs (this causes silent overwrites)

If you have D2C Lab open in multiple tabs, one tab can overwrite the other.

Fix:

  • Close all D2C Lab tabs

  • Open one fresh tab

  • Try saving again


3) Try incognito/private window (tests cache/session issues)

If it works in incognito but not in your normal browser, it’s almost always:

  • cached session data, cookies, or an extension interfering.

Fix:

  • Clear site data/cookies for d2clab.co

  • Disable ad blockers/extensions for the site

  • Log in again


4) Hard refresh

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + R

  • Mac: Cmd + Shift + R

Then re-test saving.


5) Test a different browser

Quick test:

  • Chrome ↔ Safari ↔ Edge

If it works in one browser but not another, it’s likely a browser-specific caching or extension issue.


6) Check you’re editing the correct product

This sounds obvious, but it’s common when working fast.

Best practice:

  • Go to Master List

  • Click the product’s Net Profit

  • This opens the exact Calculator card for that product


Common causes (what’s usually happening)

Cause A: Autosave didn’t complete (network / session)

If the connection drops briefly, your changes might not persist.

Fix:

  • re-enter the value

  • wait a moment

  • refresh once to confirm it persisted


Cause B: Another tab overwrote your values

If two tabs are open, the last one to update can overwrite.

Fix:

  • use one tab only


Cause C: Browser cache or extension interference

Some extensions block scripts, storage, or API calls.

Fix:

  • incognito test

  • disable extensions

  • clear site data


Cause D: Rapid editing / navigation

If you change many fields and immediately navigate away, the last change may not persist.

Fix:

  • after making changes, pause briefly

  • then refresh once to confirm


Quick checklist (30 seconds)

  • ✅ Close extra D2C Lab tabs

  • ✅ Make one change → refresh → confirm it stayed

  • ✅ Try incognito/private window

  • ✅ Hard refresh

  • ✅ Try a different browser

  1. Product name

  2. Fields you changed (example: “Unit cost 120 → 140; Shipping 0 → 20”)

  3. What happened (example: “After refresh it goes back to old values”)

  4. Device + browser (example: iPhone 16 / Safari)

  5. Whether incognito works (Yes/No)

  6. Screenshot or short screen recording
