Portfolios: filtering across all tabs
What you’ll learn
How portfolio filtering works across D2C Lab, which tabs respect the filter, and how to avoid “missing data” when a filter is active.
What portfolio filtering is
A Portfolio is your organizer (brand/project grouping).
A Portfolio filter simply changes what you’re looking at.
When you pick a portfolio (instead of “All”):
you’ll only see ideas that belong to that portfolio
this applies across multiple tabs, so your workspace stays focused
Where you choose the portfolio filter
You’ll typically see the portfolio selector near the top of the app (or inside the workflow where portfolios are used).
You can switch between:
All (show everything)
General (default portfolio)
any custom portfolio you created
What tabs the portfolio filter affects
Portfolio filtering applies across the main workflow areas so you stay consistent:
Master List
Shows only ideas in the selected portfolio.
Validator
Shows only ideas in the selected portfolio.
Calculator
Shows only calculator cards for ideas in the selected portfolio.
Suppliers
Shows supplier records for ideas in the selected portfolio.
Kanban
Shows only Kanban cards for ideas in the selected portfolio.
Important note:
If you are in the wrong portfolio, it can look like a Kanban card or supplier “disappeared.”
The most common confusion (and how to fix it)
“I can’t find my product / supplier / Kanban card”
In most cases, it’s just a portfolio filter.
Fix (30 seconds):
Switch the portfolio filter to All
Search for the idea in Master List
Confirm which portfolio it belongs to
Switch back to that portfolio
Best practices
Use All when you want to review everything (weekly review).
Use a specific portfolio when you are working on one brand (focus mode).
Keep General as your default dumping ground for early ideas.
Pro tip: portfolios + Kanban
Because Kanban is also filtered, it’s easy to think:
“Kanban card didn’t get created.”
Before reporting a bug:
switch to All and re-check.
